Our public sector client is seeking a Training Needs Analyst to support a large-scale curriculum transformation programme, with on-site work in Edinburgh two days per week.
About the Role
As a Training Needs Analyst, you will identify skills gaps, develop targeted training solutions, and support the programme’s business case and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct training needs analysis to assess knowledge and skills gaps in staff and students.
* Develop and propose solutions to address training needs, considering cost, time, and resource implications.
* Work collaboratively with subject matter experts across business, education, and IT.
* Analyse the impact of curriculum changes on learning delivery, outcomes, and technology use.
* Present findings and recommendations to programme managers and senior stakeholders in an engaging and accessible manner.
What You’ll Bring
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Significant experience in training needs analysis, with a strong understanding of methodologies and best practices.
* Proven ability to work with virtual learning environments (VLEs), assessment platforms, digital skills support, or media production.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a structured approach to evaluating training requirements.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, producing clear, engaging reports and presentations.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and consistency.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in procurement and evaluating training solutions, providers, and methodologies.
* Innovative and proactive mindset, with expertise in solution evaluation and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
