About the role:
Working as a Final Assembly Fitter in a state-of-the-art facility, you will be a key part of a dedicated team manufacturing equipment for the defence industry. Key duties include, but are not limited to:
1. To comply with the Environmental, Health and Safety Policy and identify health and safety hazards prior to the commencement of work.
2. To report via approved Maintenance Reporting Procedures any equipment fault or unusual occurrence.
3. To set components to achieve the drawing and planning specification.
4. To calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision instruments.
5. To work with written Work Instruction to ensure the final component conforms to the drawing and planning specification.
6. To select appropriate tools, equipment and materials in preparation of fitting operation.
7. To position and fasten work pieces.
8. To measure, examine, and visually inspect components to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometres and verniers.
9. To input their production tickets on to SAP on completion of their operations.
10. To ensure their personal safety and the safety of all other employees is not compromised by their actions and to apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with the regulatory agencies.
11. To meet deadlines, be flexible, dependable and time conscious and to work with minimum supervision.
12. To maintain a clean and orderly work area as required.
13. To conduct daily duties in a highly professional manner.
What we’re looking for:
Applications from candidates who can demonstrate the following requirements will be prioritised for consideration, however, if you do not meet all the requirements and you’re genuinely interested in the role, please submit a compelling cover letter that explains why you are suitable for the position:
1. Minimum of grade C in English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent.
2. Recognised time served apprenticeship in a Welding or relevant discipline.
3. Practical welding or fabricating experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
4. Knowledge of key production processes and procedure.
