Role Overview:
Our client, a dynamic mid-sized pharmaceutical company based in Berkshire, is seeking a Supply Chain Assistant Manager to join their team on an initial 12-month contract.
The ideal candidate will effectively support the team, manage supply chain operations, and build strong relationships within the department and with external stakeholders. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a strong team player mentality, and a proactive approach to managing supply chain processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee demand planning for raw materials and finished products
* Manage procurement of raw materials and supply chain services.
* Monitor and control inventory levels for raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.
* Build and maintain relationships with supply chain service providers and ensure performance meets company standards
* Assist with the communication and tracking of key performance metrics to ensure effective supply chain operations
* Support the entire supply chain process from forecasting and procurement to delivery into 3PLs (third-party logistics) and distribution hubs
* Provide training and mentorship to supply chain coordinators and interns, ensuring team growth and development
* Ensure full compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GPD (Good Distribution Practices), and all other applicable policies and regulations.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry.
* Significant experience managing pharmaceutical supply chains, including experience with raw material procurement, inventory management, and logistics coordination.
* Proficiency with industry-standard ERP systems and compliance tools used in supply chain management.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Flexibility: Ability to handle a broad range of activities, offering both strategic support and hands-on operational involvement.
* Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in forecasting, inventory management, and supplier communications.
