Due to internal promotion, we are seeking an Internal Sales Manager to join our team at Tarmac Stancombe, Flax Bourton near Bristol. This key role will lead an Internal Sales team within Aggregates and Asphalt to achieve commercial success by creating a strong sales performance environment.

Main Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Regional Commercial Director, the role of Internal Sales Manager will manage Internal Account Managers, an Internal Sales Supervisors, Internal Sales Coordinators and administration to drive performance, develop a multi skilled approach, to ensure teams are working effectively and to ensure all potential is maximised to drive sales activities and achieve predetermined volume, profit and revenue targets.
The Internal Sales Manager will also:
Delivering annual budgeted volumes, pricing and margin through their teams
Develop and manage the Internal Sales Team and their results via a performance management framework, leading the team through defining and agreeing performance requirements, providing support and coaching where necessary
Ensure commercial targets are aligned to the production plan and achieved through an approach aligned to Commercial Excellence expectations and requirements
Build and maintain relationships with the Distribution Team, Sales Team (Internal and External), customers and colleagues
Work closely alongside regional logistics teams to ensure sales activity is aligned to haulage plans and capacity
Drive performance and improvement initiatives coaching and mentoring the team as necessary
Ensure the nationally agreed best practice process and systems are used by the teams, developing and improving where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of Internal Sales Manager will have proven people management ability managing successful sales teams preferably within a similar industry. Experience inspiring business performance and driving improvements is also preferred.
To be successful in the role of Internal Sales Manager suitable candidates will also possess:
Experience successfully managing budgeting, forecasting, financial reviews
Strong negotiation and exceptional customer service skills including the ability to listen and accurately understand customer needs
Ability to effectively coach with a focus on sales techniques
Capability to deliver customer service excellence
Ability to handle conflict situations is a positive manner without compromising company liability
Proven experience developing and monitoring performance measures within a team
Capability to successfully influence and persuade others
Flexible and adaptable approach – to prioritise, plan and monitor own / team activity and successfully progress
Strong decision-making skills and the ability to successfully consider all options, risks and commercial gain
High level of emotional intelligence to effectively operate at all levels in the business
A clear understanding of concepts and principles across multi-site roles in particular the operational capacity and capability of sites to ensure sales targets are fully aligned to production
