This is a hybrid role; with remote working and some onsite presence in our central Leeds offices.
About the role
As Mobile Technical Lead, you will have the opportunity to contribute and oversee all technical aspects of the in-house development team and its projects.
You will:
1. Work with stakeholders (Product Owners, Senior Managers) to help define the Mobile vision and be hands-on with planning, estimates, and collaboration with the Architecture Team.
2. Ensure coding practices are followed, advocate for best practices, and know what good looks like.
3. Make agnostic architectural decisions influencing both Android and iOS platforms; a candidate with a stronger Apple/iOS background would be advantageous.
4. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the team and ensure the Squad is aware of new techniques.
5. Ensure the security and compliance of mobile applications with banking regulations and standards.
6. Mentor Developers on best practices and all things mobile.
7. Work with UI Designers and Product Owners to understand what is possible.
8. Identify ways to reduce Technical Debt, ensuring it is handled practically and promptly.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring stability and reliability of mobile applications.
10. Be willing to learn new technologies and help integrate them into our App.
About you
You will have a proven track record as a Mobile Tech Lead or be ready for that next step! You’ll be eager to do the right things but also balance business objectives and delivery needs. You will have knowledge of both platforms (Android and iOS), but a stronger Apple/iOS focus would be beneficial. What will you bring to the role?
* A solid understanding of Mobile Development.
* Hands-on experience with Apple and Google ecosystems.
* Experience with mobile security best practices and secure coding standards.
* Excellent knowledge of software design and architectural patterns.
* Excellent mentoring skills to help team members and developers advance in their careers.
* Experience with Source Control Management tools such as Git, GitLab, and BitBucket.
* Practical experience working in an Agile environment like Scrum.
* Experience using accessibility tools and coding practices to support users with varying abilities or specific accessibility needs.
* Understanding CI/CD pipelines such as CircleCI and Bash Scripts.
* Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
