What we’re looking for?
We’re looking for a Net Zero Project Manager – Energy Planning on a 12-month fixed term contract to support the delivery of the Net Zero strategy within WWU. The role will manage and lead our collaborative project work within the net zero innovation portfolio with focus around future energy systems, energy planning and decarbonized gases, providing support to the Regional Energy Planning Manager.
Coupled with the project focus of the role, there will be an expectation to lead on engagement activities with external stakeholders, mainly local authorities to keep them engaged with the project work being carried out by WWU and other GDNs (gas distribution networks) and ensure they are at the forefront of our activities as we transition the network.
We’ll trust you to:
* Engage and manage key Gas Distribution Network partners to deliver multiple complex and multi-stakeholder projects
* Assist with developing and delivering on engagement plans across the team to build relationships with the National Energy Systems Operator (NESO) and Regional Energy Strategic Planner (RESP) crucial to securing WWU’s future in a net zero gas distribution network
* Understand and feedback internally the growing ambitions and energy plans being developed by local authorities and other stakeholders and look for new opportunities to engage and build projects with key partners to support the regions WWU serves
* Lead certain projects from conception to delivery in line with budgets and provide regular progress meetings both internally and externally
You’ll need to have:
* Project Management experience
* Ability to support analysis and planning processes
* Experience of liaising with multiple stakeholders and representing an organisation externally
* Understanding of the role of our gas network today and ambitions for the future
* Good technical understanding of gas network
* Understanding of regulatory environments desirable
