Job Title: Electrical Engineer Team Leader Location: Kidderminster Reports To: Maintenance Manager Salary: £64,000 Working Hours: 7:30 - 4pm (Monday-Friday) Job Purpose The role involves managing the electrical maintenance team and overseeing the delivery of both planned and reactive electrical testing and maintenance activities. You will work within a set budget and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders on upgrades and new installation projects. The role demands meeting the operational requirements of the facility, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency in a challenging environment. Key Responsibilities Adhere to all company and site-specific safety policies and procedures. Report health, safety, environmental concerns, near misses, and incidents through the company’s reporting system. Ensure compliance with the Safe System of Work and develop competence under safety regulations. Maintain and ensure proper operation of all electrical systems and equipment on-site. Ensure electrical systems and apparatus are tested in accordance with regulatory requirements. Organize and oversee maintenance and testing contracts for specialized equipment, including low and high voltage systems. Recommend appropriate spares for plant equipment to support procurement efforts. Assist the Maintenance Manager with internal, external, and compliance audits as needed. Operate within the designated electrical section budget. Develop and implement obsolescence management plans for electrical equipment. Support initiatives related to enhancing cybersecurity, software baselining, and backups. Provide support to Mechanical, Controls, and Instrument Engineers as required, including during absences. Investigate faults within the facility or plant, ensuring timely resolution, and provide progress updates to management. Oversee and manage the electrical maintenance team, fulfilling line management duties. Person Specification / Knowledge / Qualifications Qualified electrical engineer, holding at least a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Minimum of five years' relevant post-qualification experience. Broad experience with process electrical systems, including both high and low voltage systems. Experience with electrical-driven actuators and motors. Ability / Experience Background in power stations, process plants, or similar industrial environments preferred. Experience managing a team of technicians. Proven track record in managing multiple contractors and maintenance contracts. Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong self-discipline.
