We are seeking a dedicated Learning Coach to work with students aged 11 to 17 in a specialist education setting in Exeter. What do Learning Mentors do? Support students in developing effective coping strategies Encourage motivation and a positive approach to learning Inspire students to set and achieve ambitious goals Assist in re-engaging students with their education Foster confidence and resilience in young learners Enhance social and emotional development Identify and address barriers to learning to support academic and personal growth This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, enabling them to develop confidence, independence and the skills they need to succeed. About you: We are looking for educators who are committed to supporting young people, particularly those with additional needs. The ideal candidate will have: Experience working with children, preferably in a SEN, SEMH or alternative education setting A flexible and adaptable approach to meet the diverse needs of students The ability to implement creative strategies to support engagement and learning A commitment to working towards the targets set out in Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) Skills or experience in areas such as forest school, art, sports or other practical activities (desirable but not essential) This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about education and wants to help young people re-engage in a supportive and nurturing environment.
