Teach Now are recruiting on behalf of a 2 form entry primary school. This is a thriving and inclusive school located in the heart of the Borough of Barnet, currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This position involves working closely with a bright and energetic boy in Year 1, who presents behaviours associated with ASD and ADHD.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one support to the student, implementing personalized learning strategies and accommodations tailored to their needs.
2. Support the student in developing social skills, managing sensory needs, and fostering their academic progress.
3. Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
4. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the student's well-being and engagement.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly ASD and ADHD.
2. A genuine passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of students.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
4. Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
5. Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desired but not essential).
