Your Role
Are you passionate about precision and detail? As a Quality Inspector, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring James Walker products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. You'll join a team of six working in a collaborative and professional environment, inspecting small batch precision engineering products. The working hours are 3 days on, 3 days off, working 06:00 - 18:00.
Key Responsibilities
1. Using inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, verniers, shadow graph, thread wires, thread gauges, plug gauges, surface tester, CMM machine and others to make accurate measurements.
2. Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
3. Creating non-conformance reports and ensuring containment of nonconforming components/products.
4. Supporting the shop floor by supplying accurate feedback on any manufacturing errors.
5. Read thoroughly all works order instructions, drawings and bill of material instructions to ensure all the Customers' requirements are identified and fulfilled (reports completed, tests requirements met, etc.).
6. Maintain and check Material Reference Numbers (MFL's) to ensure traceability system is maintained.
7. Manage your work schedule to maximize throughput.
8. Check coated products for quality and damage as delivered by a subcontractor.
9. Assist with third party inspection visits if needed as internal audits.
10. Any other job requested by Quality Control Supervisor whether within or in another section.
About You
Essential Experience
1. Experience of working in a related or similar role in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
Preferred Experience
1. Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
2. Worked in a quality contract environment.
Technical Skills / Qualifications Required

1. GCSE Math and English C/4 and above or equivalent.
2. Be able to use measuring equipment.
3. Ability to understand and read technical/engineering drawings.
4. Ability to read BOM (Bill of Materials).
5. Shall be familiar with ISO-9001 or similar Quality System.
6. Decision Making/Problem Solving.
7. IT Skills (Excel, Word).
8. Ability to communicate well with individuals at all levels of the business.
9. Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and detail-oriented.
Preferred Skills Required
1. Knowledge of engineering processes.
