The early intervention service provides early detection, assessment and intervention to individuals who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis. This is an exciting time to join the team, with the development of this new posts. In this new post, we are aiming to support and contribute to the increased provision of carers support. To provide emotional and practical support establish supportive relationships with carers and people using mental health services under the guidance of professionally qualified staff. To assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of the support provided to the carers of service users. To support carers to identify strengths and assets in order that they gain a better understanding of psychosis and enable the development of hope that a recovery from psychosis is possible. We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and thoughtful individuals with an interest in supporting carers and first episodes of psychosis to join our multi-disciplinary teams. You will have a good knowledge base, excellent communication skills and a flexible and positive attitude. You should have a caring, non-judgmental and inclusive attitude and be committed to the delivery of safe, high-quality care. Main duties of the job The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: To support the delivery of the clinical service and holding a caseload of carers which have been identified by senior clinicians in the service, either within carers own homes or in public places identified. To assist in developing, implementing and evaluating a carers support plan alongside the qualified staff Provide regular support over a specified time-period identified by the service. Provide support with daily living and the normalisation of carers' lives.
