About this opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity within our friendly Capital Programme team for an experienced Project Lead to join us to support a range of projects, with a particular focus on public realm and highways projects. These roles represent an opportunity to make a real difference to our economy and communities by delivering highway improvements, public realm schemes and cycling/walking infrastructure, as well as a wider range of potential projects in future.
These are key posts within the Capital Programme Team, which is responsible for the delivery of £100m+ of work annually. You are likely to be involved in developing business cases, procuring, and managing contracts, developing plans and managing delivery through to completion.
Project Leads engage with internal and external stakeholders across Cumbria’s communities, the council’s directorates, and other organisations and partners to ensure that the infrastructure delivered meets the needs of the county’s stakeholders. We are looking for candidates who will procure expert designers and construction partners through the council’s procurement frameworks and manage them through the design and construction phases of your projects.
