To support the Projects, Income and Costing Team in the provision of management information and advice to the Trust as a whole. The post-holder will work both as part of a team and independently as required. Assisting in the production of timely accurate and relevant information for the completion of monthly income reporting internally and externally, helping the trust to plan its medium & long term future.
This role comes with an option to undertake a L4 AAT or CCAB Accounting qualification via Apprenticeship.
External applicants commencing study at L4 AAT will receive 80% AfC pay until successful completion of that level. Internal applicants or people studying at CCAB qualification level will receive 100% AfC pay.
The Trust is seeking to appoint a highly motivated data-driven and analytical thinker to the role of Income & Costing Assistant within the Financial Management team.
The successful candidate must possess good analytical, organisational, and communication skills, as well as being proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
You will also be supported to complete an Accounting qualification via apprenticeship.
Please note that this post will be applicable for hybrid working; however, during the initial probation period, attendance on site will be expected.
The interview will include an Excel assessment (35 minutes).
Main duties of the job
You must be able to prioritise your own work to meet deadlines, have the ability to work with big data, to analytically assess information and follow instructions.
You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You will be confident, have a mature and flexible approach, be a good timekeeper, and have the ability to work unsupervised to ensure the effective coordination of duties.
In return, we will ensure that you receive all the training you need to be able to do this role fully and competently. You will be released for study and supported to achieve a framework of nationally recognised qualifications.
The minimum entry requirements are successful completion of Level 3 AAT or demonstrable equivalent.

Qualifications
* AAT Level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience
* 5 GCSEs at grade 4-9 (C or above)
* Part-qualified CCAB
* Demonstrable commitment to continued professional development
Knowledge and Experience
* Previous experience of working within a financial or information environment.
* Knowledge of financial or information systems
* An understanding of NHS accounting policies and procedures
* Familiar with working in a multidisciplinary environment/team.
Skills and abilities
