This is an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Design Technician Apprentice to work alongside our skilled and knowledgeable design team in our Warrington office. You will work towards successfully achieving the level 3 design technician apprenticeship standard whilst getting hands-on engineering experience and studying for a BTEC diploma in engineering.
You will contribute to the preparation of engineering solutions and produce designs, drawings or models for structures, piping, electrical systems, control and instrumentation systems or mechanical components relevant to your chosen pathway.
You will be able to identify factors likely to affect design decisions, produce Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and engineering drawings and specifications and will be able to communicate design information to others.
In your daily work, you will interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders and will be based within a project design team and may also get the opportunity to carry out occasional work at on-site locations where you will be required to understand on-site hazards and health, safety and environmental requirements.
Main Responsibilities
* Attend training workshops / courses and participate in as many learning opportunities as possible.
* Meet requirements for health, safety, environmental, sustainability, professional development and ethics in engineering design practice.
* Invest time and energy into self-study to support company provided learning opportunities.
* Good timekeeping, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Perform duties as assigned by engineers, designers and management.
* Update and maintain design documentation and data.
* Ensure that all work is performed efficiently and in a timely manner.

* Comply with relevant legislation, regulations, company policies and procedures, strategies and technical guidance.
* Interpret technical information to establish customer design requirements.
* Support the identification, analysis and evaluation of factors affecting technical designs.
* Produce detailed drawings to appropriate company and industry regulations, standards and procedures.
* Use digital technologies and techniques such as Computer Aided Design to produce detailed 3D models.
Qualifications & Experience
* You will have a minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above (grade 4 or above in the new grading system), including English and maths. If you have not already achieved a grade 4 in either your GCSE English or maths and you wish to study at Level 3, you will be required to work towards GCSE English and maths as part of your qualification.
