Music and Singing Tutor (Maternity Cover) Fixed Term Contract

We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and professional Music and Singing Tutor with experience of exploring diverse cultures through music at our SEN College.
This role will facilitate a broad range of activities in conjunction with staff, learners, and the wider community to deepen and broaden learners’ experience in the fields of arts and performance-based subjects. Working with the wider team, you will be key in the development of a broad and rich curriculum offer that supports the acquisition of skills and knowledge in support of learners’ aspirations and future plans.
Everything we do at Orpheus is concerned with enabling young disabled adults to live life to the fullest, particularly with respect to developing confidence and skills for work and independent living.
35 hours per week / 44 weeks per year (hours may be altered on occasions according to the needs of the curriculum and organisation – some evening and off-site work will be involved).
Salary: £23,932.13 – 28,306.05 per annum (dependent on qualifications)

Essential qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experience:
* Degree in related arts performance subject, or relevant subject-specific vocational qualification/awards
* Teaching qualification, or to be working towards one
* Proven ability to lead performances to a high standard
* Experience working in a team developing and introducing new initiatives
* Evidence of personal CPD
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with young disabled people in an arts and/or education setting
* Knowledge of performance devising and production
* Knowledge of awarding bodies' requirements
* Knowledge of portfolio evidence gathering for qualifications
* Understanding of effective utilization of teaching
* Outstanding creative skills and abilities related to the arts and specifically music
* Ability to manage multiple priorities
* Excellent computer literacy and administrative skills
* Ability to be flexible and contribute to all areas of the curriculum including pastoral support
* Ability to inspire and excite young people to achieve high standards
* Sense of humour
* Flexibility when working with others
* Enthusiasm for learning new skills and engaging with CPD
