We are excited to offer this great opportunity for a Senior Cost Analyst who has experience in providing comprehensive financial planning and reporting support to the Retail – Service delivery team (Demand reduction programmes).
The role will support the Programme Cost & Financial Planning Manager by producing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, along with valuable performance insight, to drive efficiency and support the Thames Water turnaround journey. Owning and preparing monthly financial results (VOWD), accrual management, and variance analysis against set budgets for management and group finance reporting.
Prepare and manage detailed budgets and forecasts for the Demand Reduction programme Customer side Leakage, monitoring performance against agreed targets and investigating the operational cause of variances and issues.
Build and maintain financial cost models for Demand Reduction programmes.
Manage the lifecycle of capital projects in SAP from creation, and delivery monitoring, to closing down and commission the asset or write-off costs if no asset is created.
Support Projects Managers is preparing upcoming Investment Papers, providing financial input for review and endorsement ahead of submission for approval.
From Meter procurement to accurate cost allocation in projects.
Strong Finance background – Project Cost Management.
Strong analytical, Excel and PowerPoint skills, Power BI.
Knowledge of using and building financial models in Excel.
SAP ERP.
Power BI.
Strong business and commercial acumen.
Travel on occasion to Clearwater court or MGJV Stock Warehouses. (We would be particularly interested in those candidates that have a part qualification accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA or someone working towards a qualification would be viewed favourably but not essential.
Base Location: Hybrid - Worcester House, Langley SL3 6EY,
A competitive salary of £48,000 and up to £58,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
Annual Leave – 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus, bank holidays).
