Job Title:Senior Software Test Engineer
Location:Cowes
Salary:Up to £60,000 dependent on experience
What you'll be doing:
* Managing the production of automated and manual tests to ensure that the software functionality and behaviour are consistent with requirements
* Overseeing the creation of Software Functional Proving Builds using code and data components which are under local software repository configuration control or otherwise under configuration control
* Leading the software Verification & Validation activities for all identified functional proving builds
* Managing the generation of the Software Test Reports (STRs) and Software test Plans (STP)
* Leading the production and maintenance of the VCRI (verification cross reference index) and using the VCRI to assist proving that the software satisfies the requirements
Your skills and experiences:
* BEng/BSc in Computer Science or other relevant Engineering or Numerate subject (technology, engineering or science related discipline) or relevant experience
* Considerable experience of using at least one high level programming language and a high-level design methodology (e.g. UML)
* Experienced of all aspects of a software lifecycle and good knowledge of software lifecycle models (e.g. Waterfall, Agile)
* Comprehensive understanding of configuration management and experience of a configuration management tool
* Good knowledge of appropriate software standards (e.g. ISO/IEC/IEE 12207)

The Sampson Radar Software team:
The 30 person Sampson Radar Software team supports and enhances the capabilities of the Royal Navy's products. In addition to providing continuous support for current products, your role as a Senior Software Test Engineer will involve providing software quality, test, and assurance as part of the team that delivers client enhancements over the next 10 years. You will have the chance to grow and improve your knowledge and abilities, which could lead to more senior roles in a global business.
