Main duties of the job The ENT department at Southampton is a large unit serving the local population but is also a regional centre for subspecialist ENT services. The team has close links with respiratory medicine, allergy, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, OMF surgery to offer the full breadth of tertiary rhinology services. UHS is looking to appoint an ENT surgeon with a specialist interest in rhinology on an initial locum basis with a view to a future substantive appointment. An advanced rhinology fellowship is essential and there is also the opportunity to support and further develop the existing anterior skull base service run jointly with neurosurgery. The successful applicant will join a team of 14 ENT surgeons. In addition, the ENT team participate in the ENT surgical on-call rota and provide 24/7 ENT cover for UHS, Salisbury and Royal Hampshire County Hospitals.
