Main duties of the job Staff nurses in the paediatric unit have the opportunity to care for children aged 0-16 working alongside the MDT. You are responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation or evaluation of programmes of care. When deemed competent, is designated to take charge of the ward/area and provide an effective professional and managerial leadership focus in the absence of the ward manager. Is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care, maintaining a high standard of nursing care within the framework of Trust policies. Supervises qualified and unqualified staff.
