As part of our newly created Commercial Emblement Team, we are now looking for a Commercial Excellence Manager to help accelerate the transformation of our commercial organisation.
Reporting into the Commercial Transformation and Business Development Director, you will lead our commercial excellence agenda across the UK sales organisation. This encompasses data enablement, salesforce effectiveness & pricing/margin management.
Responsibilities:
Driving Business Data Enablement and Reporting
1. Ensure the fundamentals of commercial data (customer, product, pricing) are in place.
2. Develop a commercial operations balanced scorecard and use it to report monthly progress to the SLT and group ExCo.
3. Through improved business analytics, help the commercial organisation to better segment the market and prioritise opportunities, demonstrating progress made through improved reporting.
4. Create and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights.
5. Analyze sales data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
6. Collaborate with finance and other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Salesforce Effectiveness
1. Develop and implement processes required to professionalise and enhance commercial operations.
2. Drive sales force effectiveness through ABCD segmentation, dashboarding, territory review, target setting and execution follow-up.
3. Develop and/or implement sales training programs to ensure the sales team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
4. Work with and refine CRM systems and other sales tools to improve sales force efficiency and data accuracy.
5. Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for growth.
Pricing and Margin Management
1. Ensure that the fundamentals of pricing are in place, maintaining a robust and accurate pricing structure.
2. Establish a central governance pricing process shifting sole responsibility from sales rep.
3. Develop and implement pricing strategies with strong external benchmarks and thorough analysis.
4. Monitor and manage pricing to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
5. Conduct regular reviews and updates of pricing policies and procedures.
6. Analyze margin performance and implement strategies to optimize profitability.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone from a strong commercial background with proven leadership, strong analytical skills and a passion for data. You will be ambitious and willing to grow into new leadership roles. This is a talent development role and we require someone who doesn’t want to stand still and is ready for growth.
1. Ideally Bachelor's degree qualified or higher in a relevant business-related discipline.
2. Impact and influence on both senior sales leaders as well as sales reps on the ‘shop-floor’ (who will have different levels of modern sales maturity).
3. Excited by the challenge of building a strong commercial foundation of data, process and tooling and driving the change management of a sales organisation one step at a time.
4. Ability to manage technical delivery of a team of analysts, bringing structured leadership and step-by-step improvements as well as delivery of bigger step change projects.
