Join us as a Senior Project Manager on one of our prestigious JVs called Connect Plus Services, and you'll be supporting an exciting variety of civil and structural design projects. You'll collaborate across new build, renewal, maintenance, and assessment works, from our largest, most high-profile to our more progressive and specialised.
We offer flexible working where you will typically be working from your base CPS office, Leatherhead, Dartford or South Mimms up to three days per week and two days from home.
Your purpose:
* The Senior Project Manager delivers project objectives with respect to the six key areas of performance: Health & Safety, Quality, Cost, Environment, Delivery and People.
* We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual with a strong project background to join this fast-paced team to deliver the complex highways schemes throughout their whole project lifecycle.
* Schemes range in value from £20k to £4m+.
* This role will also involve direct line management of project managers, assistant project managers and early careers.
* Other requirements also include the successful delivery of the programme of works on time and to budget.
What you can bring:
* Highways Construction & Maintenance Experience – Proven experience in delivering highways projects or similar transferable skills in construction.
* Project Management Expertise – Strong project management skills, ideally supported by a recognised qualification (PRINCE2, APMP, etc.).
* Technical & Design Knowledge – HNC/HND (or equivalent) in civil engineering or construction, with an understanding of design, environmental, and health & safety requirements.
* Health & Safety Competence – Knowledge of CDM regulations, H&S legislation, and safety management practices in construction and maintenance.
* Stakeholder & Team Leadership – Experience in leading teams, driving performance, and managing stakeholders effectively.
* Commercial & Budget Management – Strong financial acumen, budget control, and understanding of Lean principles.
* Problem-Solving & Adaptability – Proactive mindset with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage challenges, and adapt to project needs.
* Communication & Customer Focus – Strong presentation skills, stakeholder engagement, and a customer-centric approach to service delivery.
* Resilience & Team Building – Ability to build relationships, foster teamwork, and create a culture of trust and collaboration.
* Project Lifecycle Management – Experience managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring high standards of delivery.
