Internal communications in a University setting provides an opportunity to work with and across two distinct but related audiences – our student population, and our staff. We are looking for a talented and creative Internal Communications Officer to join a small Internal Communications Team at University of Gloucestershire, to help run and develop our communications channels.
The MyGlos app is the University's primary platform for student communications, providing students with access to key university resources, such as emails and personal timetable, as well as news, events and essential updates. You will produce copy and visual elements for the app and the supporting student intranet, sharing key messages in an accurate, engaging and well-presented manner.
In addition to publishing University-wide communications and information relating to specific courses or departments, you will contribute to the layout and navigation of MyGlos, responding to feedback and user data to improve the overall user experience. Working with colleagues across the University, you will ensure that MyGlos presents current and prospective students with key information and resources to guide them through their university experience.
For our staff audience, we are looking for someone who can run engagement activities, embed University values into our communications, and follow internal communications best practice to ensure staff are kept up to date. The post holder will look after the day-to-day running of our Staffnet intranet site, and will work with colleagues across the university to encourage staff engagement through briefings, newsletters, and other channels.
The successful candidate will have excellent written communication skills, and strong experience of web editing and content management systems. Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, is desirable, along with an understanding of HTML and data analysis.
If you would like to have an informal conversation about this role please contact Zoe Homes, Senior Communications Manager, zhomes@glos.ac.uk.
