We have just finished our first 3-year ESG strategy and have done so through engaging with external partners the support of our leadership team, and our award winning Environmental Committee (Employee Resource Group). We are about to start our 4 – 7 year ESG strategy and this is an incredible opportunity, for someone who is not only passionate about strategic development of such initiatives, but is also keen to get hands-on with implementation of our strategy. As a standalone subject matter expert in our business you need to be confident with your skills and knowledge that you can drive our business forward with our sustainability initiatives as we grow at pace. Requirements: Responsibilities And Duties As our ESG / Sustainability Lead, you will be at the forefront of integrating sustainable practices and principles into every facet of our organisation. This role is not just about leading initiatives, but about inspiring and creating change, educating our team, and embedding these crucial values into our daily practices. You will have the autonomy to innovate and the support to implement meaningful strategies that not only enhance our workplace, but also our broader community and the work we do for our clients. Environmental Review our existing practises and current progress to identify improvements and establish the right priorities for the Group to develop our existing roadmap that reflects these and implements the strategy Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability and ESG strategies aligned with company goals and industry standards. Identify areas that will make us a more environmentally sustainable business that spreads further within our culture both within our internal environment, but also how we deal with clients and to monitor and be responsible down our supply chain Establish, monitor and report on sustainability and ESG performance metrics, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and drive continuous improvement. Conduct sustainability assessments and audits to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. Prepare and present regular reports on sustainability and ESG performance to senior management and stakeholders. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in sustainability and ESG. Foster a culture of sustainability within the organisation through training, awareness programs, and employee engagement and be a key member of our Employee Resource Group. Social Refine and enhance our EDI strategy, incorporating best practises and setting measurable goals to ensure inclusivity across the employee lifecycle Collaborate with the People Services team to embed D&I principles across Agena Group and integrate these into our culture Work with Marketing team, to internally develop and share communications around events and activity, create resources, content and workshops demonstrating our commitment to stakeholders and employees Governance Work in partnership with Compliance to develop a robust governance framework that supports sustainable growth and long-term value creation for the Agena Group Ensure we adhere to relevant sustainability and ESG regulations and standards Continually improve our performance in ISO14001 audits Together with Compliance identify and mitigate ESG related risk. Who You Are Demonstratable understanding of the principles and practices of sustainability, including expertise in environmental management and social equity Strategic thinker with analytical capabilities to turn insights into action Excellent project management skills with the ability to translate strategic vision into actionable plans and tangible outcomes Exceptional communications skills with the ability to inspire and engagement a diverse range of stakeholders (including our clients) to ensure ESG flows through our working culture. Can be done during school hours. Location : Based in either our Stafford, Newton Abbot or Lancing locations as a hybrid working pattern (2 – 3 days in the office). We are open to a remote role for the right candidate with relevant experience, with regular travel to the office locations.
