Last year, we helped more than 42,000 people struck by uninsured and hit-and-run drivers and paid over £400 million in compensation to support victims in rebuilding their lives. We're looking for a professional and inspiring Risk Management Leader to come and join our team.
The purpose of the Head of Risk Management role is to:
* Protect the MIB by ensuring that it adequately identifies and mitigates its key risks.
* Champion a culture of excellent risk management throughout the MIB.
* Provide an advisory role on risk management across MIB ensuring best practice.
* Develop a risk framework tailored to MIB and lead embedding into the business.
* Work collaboratively across other safeguarding functions to ensure alignment and cohesive protection and enablement for the business.
Ensure the delivery of the business plan by driving the embedding of a positive, risk-aware culture and supporting the business in the engagement with the risk processes, tools, methodology, and BAU continuous improvement relating to the following:
* Continue to embed the risk assessment and management framework ensuring appropriate policies, tools, and methodologies are up to date and relevant for the business needs.
* Risk registers via the RCSA process are aligned to enterprise risks and the business plan.
* Risk appetite, acceptance, and response is reviewed, in use, and understood across the business so that growth and business initiatives are managed within an acceptable tolerance.
* Promote a risk awareness culture within MIB via a robust engagement and comms plan.
* Develop and support implementation of Operational resilience, TPRM framework, and Risk appetite framework.
* Responsible for overseeing, challenging, and supporting the disaster recovery, business continuity, and crisis management plans for MIB.
* Liaise closely with Internal/External Audit on risk management issues that impact upon the Group including inputs into risk-based planning and combined assurance approach.
* Maintain an up-to-date awareness of the latest changes across the industry. Introduce the latest best practice and thought leadership to enhance MIB’s performance.
* Lead, coach, and retain a high-performing and cohesive team to attain objectives and aspirations. Ensure a focus on performance management, personal development, and talent management. Build succession plans as appropriate.
* Drive a positive, proactive, and expert risk management culture that is respected by the business and influences others on how to own and manage their risks effectively.
* Ensure the development, management, and continuous improvement of qualitative and quantitative risk reporting that engages the end user via the One Trust system’s use and KRI metrics.
Qualifications and Education:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
* A relevant risk management qualification.
* Experience of working in a regulated environment including experience at senior management level.
* Ability to influence decisions at executive and senior management level.
* Experience of leading, managing, and developing a team, maintaining a collaborative and constructive working environment within a department and across the organisation.
* Experience of communicating and presenting highly complex information to internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to deal with confidential matters with discretion and tact.
* Maintains the highest professional standards to ensure the organisation is not in a position of risk.
* Works collaboratively with partners internally and externally to resolve conflicts to acceptable outcomes.
* Extensive experience of risk management.

Salary: from £100,000 - £120,000 per annum depending on experience.
Grade: 15
Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
