Special Education (SEN) Learning Support Assistant
We are working with a number of specialist educational need schools located in Liverpool who require Learning Support Assistants to work with them on a day to day, short term, and long-term basis. The demand is high.
The schools cater for students in Key Stages 3 and 4 and in the post-16/sixth form who have a range of complex needs including physical disabilities and autism spectrum conditions with additional learning difficulties, severe and moderate learning difficulties and a small number of students have profound and multiple learning difficulties.
The role of the Learning Support Assistant will be to work at classroom level, providing general support for the students and the teacher. The classroom teacher will direct you to provide support to students depending on their respective needs and the requirements of the lessons being taught. There will be a requirement for personal care at times.
Whether you are new to the role and looking to develop your skills and knowledge in this type of role or whether you are an experienced learning support assistant or teaching assistant seeking regular work and pay, then these roles would be ideal for you.
Ideally, you will have experience of working in a similar setting and providing support for students. You will ideally have experience of providing personal care for students when required. However, if you are new to the role that is fine as we offer training, and we provide outstanding mentoring support for all our staff to ensure you are always supported in the role.
The salary is £23,400 pro rata.
You must be caring and understanding of the individual challenges the students encounter and fully committed to helping them manage and overcome these challenges. You will be wholly committed to helping the students develop personally and academically.
