Hospitality Services Assistant
We are seeking to appoint Hospitality Services Assistants to work in Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre’s popular Planet Café and new First Light Cafe. The post holder will play a vital role in the day to day running of our retail cafés.
Jodrell Bank Centre for Engagement is one of the University of Manchester's Cultural Institutions and is dedicated to engaging audiences with the science, culture, and history of Jodrell Bank Observatory, the UK’s 32nd UNESCO World Heritage Site, via its extensive exhibitions and award-winning programme of education, events and festivals. The First Light Café seats 85 people indoors and 58 people outdoors, Planet Café seats 50 people indoors and 60 people outdoors.
Key duties include
1. Cafe, barista and delivered catering services as required
2. Assisting with food preparation, stock control and storage
3. Pot washing and table clearing
4. Maintaining the required standards of professional presentation, safety and hygiene at all times
You will have experience of working in a café environment. Food hygiene and allergen qualifications are essential as well as significant understanding of health & safety relevant to working in a café. You will need to have excellent customer service and communication skills, be a good team worker, and be reliable and flexible.
Part Time weekend position available 14 hours per week. Due to the requirements of events, there will be occasional early morning and evening work involved with this role.
Jodrell Bank is rurally located, 20 miles south of Manchester, and applicants will need their own means of transportation in order to travel to and from work.
