Are you looking to use your extensive clinical pharmacy skills and knowledge to influence prescribing to reduce unnecessary variation within two important specialties in our Trust?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and adaptable registered Pharmacist to join our small, friendly but progressive inpatient department at Weston General Hospital, which is part of the wider University Hospitals of Bristol and Weston NHS Trust (UHBW).
The Advanced Antimicrobial and Intensive Care Pharmacist Band 8a is a full time post (37.5 hours per week) which can be split into 2 x 0.5WTE posts.
You will support the pharmacy team to deliver a comprehensive, safe and cost effective clinical pharmacy service including oncology.
You will work closely with the consultants in both specialties to:
1. Promote safe and effective use of medicines and influence prescribing.
2. Undertake audits and education and training of medical and nursing staff.
3. Provide information on medicines use and costs to Directorates within the Trust and monitor the Trust’s performance for national CQUINs and related local targets.
4. Develop an independent prescribing role within both specialties.
You will have recent hospital experience, preferably including antimicrobial stewardship and intensive care prescribing; have excellent communication, influencing and problem solving skills and preferably good mentoring, teaching and assessment skills to enable you to take on this influential role within our Trust.
