Trainee Specialist Practitioner District Nurse
Professional Development Opportunity

We offer a study opportunity meeting the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for:
* Specialist Practitioner Qualification (SPQ) Standards of proficiency for Community Nursing Specialist Practice Qualifications (District Nursing)
Are you a dynamic, hardworking, and innovative registered nurse ready to develop your career? We are offering permanent contracts with funding for course fees to prepare you for a key role in delivering community health in Lothian as a Trainee Specialist Practitioner District Nurse.
Successful candidates will study full-time (37 hours/week) for 12-18 months, depending on prior experience. Opportunities and locations will be discussed at interview.
Remuneration will align with your current salary. Applications are welcome from nurses at Band 5 or Band 6. Upon course completion, you will be offered a post as a Specialist Practitioner District Nurse within Lothian Health and Social Care Partnerships. Graduates are expected to consolidate practice within the District Nursing Service for two years post-registration.

* Be available to study from September 2025 for 12 or 18 months, depending on experience
* Meet university course entry requirements
* Complete an application form
*Candidates with previous CDM and V300 qualifications are eligible for the 12-month course.
