Early Years Quality Improvement Officer We are working in partnership with a Local Authority in the London Bridge area who are seeking a Quality Improvement Officer to join their Early Years Team. Contract - 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract. Full Time Hours - 35 Hours per week. Location - London Bridge, SE1. Rate of Pay - £22 - £28 per hour - Negotiable depending on experience. Main Purpose: To identify and provide specialist support and challenge to Private Voluntary and Independent (PVI) early years settings registered with Ofsted on the Early Years Register judged as or at risk of being judged as 'Requires Improvement' or 'Inadequate', with a focus on securing improvement at their next Ofsted inspection. To provide advice, training, challenge and support to ALL PVI early years settings and practitioners ensuring compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage to develop best practice in ensuring children experience high quality, inclusive early years provision, to raise achievement and to close the gap in attainment. To provide advice, support and sign posting to enquirers who are interested in setting up new early years childcare provision or in changing/extending current provision to support Southwark's Childcare Sufficiency duties. Role Accountabilities: To provide specialist support and challenge to early years settings who have received or who are considered to be at risk of receiving a 'requires improvement' or 'inadequate' judgment from Ofsted. To have a sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and to provide specialist advice and training. To identify training and professional development needs of managers and practitioners in allocated settings and to arrange, signpost or deliver required training or professional development opportunities to secure continuous quality improvement in Southwark's early years PVI settings. To facilitate networks, forums and groups of practitioners coming together to share best practice and provide peer support. To monitor, evaluate and write reports where required on the progress and impact of national and local interventions. Hold a particular responsibility within a specific area within the team which will link to and across other local authority services. To work with our colleagues across social care, education, SEN and health to ensure settings are suitably trained, supported and funded to meet the individual needs of vulnerable children and those with SEND. Experience / Qualifications Needed: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent relevant qualification. Ofsted registration and inspection procedures. Local Authority / Public Sector.
