Description: Multi skilled Field Service Engineer required to undertake PPM, installation, service and breakdown repair on a range of special purpose waste recycling machinery across the Yorkshire region.
Our client has been established for almost half a century and is recognised as the UK’s market leader in the design, manufacture and service of standard and bespoke recycling and waste management machinery. Due to continued success and strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and proactive multi skilled Field Service Engineer to complement their professional maintenance and service engineering team.
Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will be tasked with the installation, service and repair of a range of special purpose waste compactors and baling systems at customer sites across the Yorkshire region.
Based from home and working a standard 39 hour week with extensive overtime (paid at time-and-a-half) available, full product training along with a vehicle and any specialist tools are provided (you will own your own basic hand tools). Occasional overnight stays are required, and you must either currently hold (or be able to obtain) CSCS certification and Enhanced DBS clearance.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Complete servicing of Waste Handling Systems comprising of balers, compactors, shredders, conveyors, tippers, and other waste handling equipment, performing fault diagnosis and repair as required, and PPM maintenance in accordance with schedules while highlighting potential issues.
2. Install new equipment and deliver associated training to customers and operatives, as well as decommissioning machines when required.
3. Evaluate and resolve electrical and mechanical problems, support fellow service Engineers, and document breakdown and service visits, including reports and photos via tablet, highlighting any required parts for further works.
4. Carry out LOLER Inspections on lifting equipment.
5. Accurately document breakdown and service visits on your tablet.
6. Repair and replace hydraulics, and perform welding/minor fabrication as needed.
7. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures at all times.
To be considered for this varied and challenging multi skilled Field Service Engineer position, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 3 years’ previous experience working on electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Knowledge of Siemens S7/LOGO fault finding, modification, and debugging is distinctly advantageous. Experience in maintaining waste compactors and vertical and horizontal balers is favorable, along with excellent customer-facing skills and a commitment to the highest levels of customer satisfaction. A full clean UK driving licence is essential. Relevant engineering (mechanical and electrical) qualifications (ideally C&G or HNC or above) are required, and ideally, you should hold 18th Edition Electrical qualifications.
