This post provides a specialist dietetic service to the acute admitting areas of the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust (RCHT) Nutrition and Dietetic Team.
Main duties of the job
1. To work as a senior autonomous practitioner providing dietetic support and advice for patients referred to the Front Door Dietetic service, their carers and Health Professionals delivering a service to these people.
2. To contribute to policy development.
3. To help to support and/or establish Research and Development and a robust Audit review of the Nutrition and Dietetic service.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent leading to Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration as a Dietitian
* A teaching qualification or experience of teaching groups
Experience
* Post registration dietetic experience including at least 2 years experience of delivering services in an acute hospital
* Experience of working within a specialist area of nutrition and dietetics. Ideally this should include some evidence of working with gastroenterology patients, but could demonstrate an acute clinical background.
* Experience managing tube fed patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting
* Ability to use time management, communication and/or team working skills effectively
* Evidence of an accurate and up to date portfolio in order to demonstrate Continued Professional Development (CPD) and lifelong learning.
* Demonstrate the use of evidence based practice
* Competently demonstrate experience of "best dietetic practice" in a range of clinical conditions including gastroenterology conditions.
* Varied and comprehensive clinical experience in order to demonstrate the ability to deliver best practice for a range of more complex conditions
* Experience of working in a confidential manner
* Evidence of active participation in audit activities in dietetic practice
