Parts Advisor (Marine Industry - Leisure Yachting) required in Southampton, Hampshire
Position: Yachts Parts Advisor
Location: Southampton
Type: Permanent
Hours: 40 per week, 7.30am-4.30pm
This is a unique role, not quite like working in car parts or a builders merchant. Boat parts aren't catalogued in the same manner and therefore this role requires someone switched on with an understanding of boats, preferably some technical knowledge and a good eye for detail.
The Role:
Our clients specialise in providing top tier yachting experiences to our esteemed clientele. Our commitment to excellence extends to every facet of their operation and that's where you come in. As a Yachts Parts Advisor, you'll be a vital part of our team, ensuring that vessels have the components they need to navigate the open waters!
Responsibilities include:
1. Collaborate with managers, engineers and maintenance teams to identify required parts;
2. Source and order parts from reputable suppliers to ensure timely availability;
3. Maintain a well organised inventory of yacht components and spare parts;
4. Verify the accuracy and quality of incoming parts shipments;
5. Keep detailed records of parts inventory, orders and transactions;
6. Provide exceptional customer service to internal teams and external suppliers;
7. Carrying out parts deliveries and collections to customers;
8. Stay updated with the latest advancements in yacht technology and parts.
The Requirements:
1. Strong knowledge of Kerridge database (highly advantageous);
2. Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities;
3. Resourceful.
