About the role:
This dynamic role will see you provide specialist one-on-one counselling, support, and advocacy to both children and adults victims of recent or historical sexual assault. You will also provide crisis response within the Tamworth Hospital Emergency Department, where you will coordinate responses for individuals who have been recently sexually assaulted, including offering medical forensic care and collaborating closely with healthcare professionals and external entities.

You will work within our Child and Family Health Allied Health team, which is a part of the broader Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) network. You will exhibit strong leadership skills, whilst working closely with our Aboriginal Specialist Counsellor and Level 1/2 Counsellor. Our team is collaborative and supportive, with a passion for providing confidential and empathetic support to survivors of sexual assault, coupled with a commitment to their well-being.
About You:
We are looking for someone with strong leadership experience and sound communication skills. The ability to form and sustain relationships with other services will be vital to your success in this role, as you will be in constant contact with other mental health services, as well as the NSW Police and Department of Communities and Justice.
Requirements:
* Applicant must be female as per section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act (1977).
* Must hold as a minimum a bachelor's degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or a four year degree in psychology, being a three year degree with a fourth year honours in psychology or a qualification deemed equivalent by the employer which provides full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia; or a bachelor's degree in counselling or a related field, or other qualification deemed relevant by the employer.
