What you’ll do
1. You will keep a watchful eye on project budgets, costs, and income and working closely with the project manager you will be responsible for monthly reporting.
2. You will assist project managers commercially, with negotiations, analysing and giving information on contract terms.
3. You will have a good understanding of NEC (New Engineering Contracts) forms of contracts, gather contract info, share performance details, and jump into new contract talks.
4. You will manage and mitigate risks, providing support to both Commercial and Project Management Teams.
5. You will meticulously prepare contract documents, ensuring they align with SW and SWH procedures before project commencement.
6. You will administer commercial and contractual aspects, including change control, monthly applications, and accruals.
7. You will be part of a relatively small, but very skilled and experienced commercial team who will support you, especially initially when learning the business processes.
What you’ll need
1. You’ll have a Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Project Management qualification (or similar). If you do not have already, we would require you to be working towards your RICS/ CICES qualification.
2. You’ll showcase strong commercial and contracting awareness gained from your valuable experience on both contractor and client-side projects.
3. Your ability to manage time effectively will align seamlessly with your business and customer-focused awareness.

This role will be located at our main Scottish Water Horizons site at Deerdykes, Cumbernauld or at “The Bridge” in Stepps, although we do operate hybrid working.
This role will be a Grade 6. If you’re new to Scottish Water, you’ll join us on a salary between £33,560 - £44,140 depending on your skills and experience.
