Registered Care Home Nurse

Purpose of the Role
As a nurse in this large care home, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality nursing care to residents. Working as a member of the nursing team, you will deliver all relevant forms of care in collaboration with other nurse practitioners. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the well-being and health of elderly residents or those with various medical conditions. You will also be involved in regular supervision as part of your role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Work as part of an efficient team to ensure the smooth running of the home.
* Accurately assess the needs of residents and identify care priorities.
* Administer medication and treatments within NMC guidelines.
* Report any health concerns among residents and request GP/professional visits when necessary.
* Ensure residents' care plans are completed, maintained, and reviewed regularly.
* Provide health supervision and direct nursing care as needed.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure each resident has an individualized care plan.
* Deliver high standards of nursing and social care based on care plans and residents' needs.
* Conduct regular checks on residents' health, safety, and well-being.
* Support new staff members in all aspects of their work, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
* Mentor new and less experienced staff members, offering relevant training and coaching.

Skills and Experience
* Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures, including medication administration and wound care.
* Full and current NMC Registration
* Effective communication skills with residents, families, and the care team.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in caring for older adults.
* Flexibility to work day, evening, night shifts, and weekends as required
