Job Description
St. Helens Council is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Children's Social Worker to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a focus on long-term involvement, supporting children through various stages of their lives. Our team is responsible for Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Children We Look After (CWLA), including care proceedings, pre-proceedings, and private proceedings.
Responsibilities:
1. Case Management: Managing a caseload of 20-22 children, focusing on long-term involvement rather than duty-based work.
2. Support & Advocacy: Providing ongoing support and advocacy for adults, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard in all processes.
3. Legal Proceedings: Handling care proceedings, pre-proceedings, and private proceedings with the highest level of professionalism and care.
4. Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Working closely with other professionals, agencies, and families to develop and implement effective care plans that promote safety and well-being.
5. Continuous Monitoring: Regularly reviewing cases to ensure that Children are receiving the appropriate level of support and adjusting care plans as necessary.
Requirements:
We are looking for a Social Worker who:
6. Holds a degree in Social Work and is registered with Social Work England.
7. Enhanced DBS.
8. Demonstrates strong knowledge of CIN, CP, and CWLA processes, including care proceedings.
9. Lives within a reasonable commuting distance to St. Helens, ensuring regular and consistent involvement with the team and service users.
