An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 specialist nurse to work with the colorectal team. We are seeking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic individual with recent and relevant experience in stoma care along with at least 3 years colorectal and surgical experience.
You will be required to work independently and therefore need to be confident in your role as a lone worker as well as being able to interact within a wider multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an integral part of the colorectal team and will be required to assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of patient focused care in a caring, compassionate and sensitive manner. They will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process and will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills.
The post offers ideal opportunities for the successful applicant to enhance and expand their experience in stoma care and to make a significant difference to the experience of the patient undergoing such life changing surgery. The pathway involves pre and post operative counselling, support and education to patients and their families/carers.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse. Evidence of relevant post qualification study or equivalent experience. Evidence of teaching or mentoring.
Experience
* Relevant clinical experience in relevant setting. Evidence of working independently. Evidence of managing in a clinical area. Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Evidence of relevant CPD. Awareness of clinical/national guidelines.
* Evidence of undertaking Audit.
Skills
* Demonstrate Specialist expertise underpinned by theory. Evidence of teaching and mentoring learners. Effective communicator - able to communicate sensitive information. Evidence of decision making skills. Computer literacy.

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 a year (Per Annum, Pro Rata)
