CGI are currently on the hunt for an Azure Platform Lead with strong Linux experience to join the team on a full-time permanent basis.
Your future duties and responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and driving their professional development. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to help team members grow.
2. PlatOps Strategy & DevSecOps Leadership: Define and implement the platform engineering roadmap in alignment with ADIMS service goals. Champion the ongoing adoption and refinement of PlatOps practices and DevSecOps culture within the service, ensuring security is a fundamental component of all development and operational activities.
3. Platform Design & Architecture: Contribute to the architecture of platform solutions, alongside other technical product specialists, ensuring they meet high standards for performance, availability, and security.
4. Cloud Ownership: Take ownership of the Cloud development tooling and infrastructure, including Azure and Azure DevOps, to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, security, and product teams to align platform capabilities with application and business needs, fostering a shared responsibility model for deployment, reliability and security.
6. Process Automation & Efficiency: Drive automation across infrastructure, deployment, and operational processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing the potential for human error. Promote Configuration as Code (CaC) as well as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices where appropriate to standardise configurations.
7. Monitoring & Incident Management: Establish proactive monitoring and alerting capabilities to maintain system health and security, as well as protocols for swift incident response and root cause analysis to minimise service impact.
8. Security & Compliance Leadership: Advocate for and integrate security practices into every stage of the platform and software development lifecycles. Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and relevant regulations, and lead the team in continuous risk assessment and vulnerability management.
9. Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Champion a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and innovation. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and encourage the team to adopt best practices that enhance the platform's reliability, performance and security.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
1. Excellent knowledge of platform engineering or DevSecOps, with a background in leading teams or projects.
2. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. Azure), container orchestration (e.g. Docker, Docker Swarm), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform, ARM Templates).
3. Proven understanding of CI/CD pipeline management, automation, and configuration management tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Ansible).
4. Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace).
5. Understanding of security best practices and security frameworks (e.g. OWASP, CIS Benchmarks), with experience implementing security in the platform and software development lifecycles.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and guide the team through them.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
