Class 1 Driver/Shunter
Menzies Distribution are looking for an experienced HGV/LGV Class 1 Driver/Shunter to join our team, providing a first class service in Knowsley.
What You Want To Know:
1. Salary: £30,798.50 Per Annum / £16.92 Per Hour
2. Rotating Shift Pattern: 4 On/4 Off
3. Hours: 19:00-05:00 / 35 Hours Average Per Week
4. Holiday Allowance: 20 Days

Shunter Duties:
7. To carry out vehicle and trailer safety checks prior to commencement of shift complying with appropriate documentation and procedures.
8. Ensure vehicle load is safe, secure and correctly positioned.
9. Correctly check and accept load documentation and delivery paperwork.
10. Correctly check in any returned goods and ensure paperwork is accurate.
11. Maintain communication at all times with the Traffic Office.
12. Maintain vehicle cleanliness, using all equipment safely as specified in operating procedures.
13. Operate vehicle safely, ensuring driver actions do not endanger self or other road users.
14. Comply with safe working practices at all times.
15. Undertake any other reasonable job instruction to support the supply of a quality service to the customer.
16. Rachet, strap and corner management.
HGV Driver/Shunter Requirements:
17. A full UK C+E licence
18. 12 months previous class 1 driving experience
19. Previous shunting experience (desirable)
20. No more than 6 points on your licence
21. No previous disqualifications
22. Good knowledge of drivers hours and WTD regulations
23. This can be reasonably physical so we ask for this to be considered when applying.
