We have a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Aviation Manager to join an established, successful Birmingham-based Tour Operator. You will be responsible for the daily operations of the Aviation (Fares & Ticketing department), ensuring the team completes all processes and tasks within the deadlines required. You will be a GDS (ideally Amadeus & Galileo) expert with experience in managing a small team. The starting salary is up to £40k pa, dependent on experience. Hours of work are between Mon - Fri 9am - 6pm and ideally will be based in our client's Birmingham office; however, our client can also consider hybrid working options.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Aviation Operations Manager will be responsible for all Aviation Projects, including building relationships with GDS providers, securing new deals, meeting targets, and driving our aviation business forward. The role will involve liaising with existing e-sales customers, reservations, and airlines.
The main aspects of the role will include:
1. Project management and overseeing the ticket department on a daily basis.
2. Updating the reservations team with new fares, special fares, and changes to routings by communicating effectively daily fare updates.
3. Assisting with GDS Relationship at the operational level.
4. Monitoring competitor activity and pricing against our own across Airlines on a weekly basis.
5. Specialist Fare Management, including cruise fares, NDC, I.T fares, e-global, corporate fares, and one ways, ensuring that they are loaded into all GDS systems including Amadeus and GAL.
6. Managing the ADM & ACM process from start to finish.
7. Conducting and helping to coordinate airline training for the reservations team in conjunction with the training department.
8. Managing relationships with our e-sales customers to keep them updated with relevant new fares.
9. Analysing fares, airline information, and identifying and proactively promoting good deals to marketing, management, and reservations.
10. Advising reservations and aftersales teams of any disruptions to airline services that will affect passengers and ensuring that contingency plans are followed.
11. Covering the OOH emergency line as part of a rota.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1. Solid experience of hands-on managing an aviation team for a Tour Operator.
2. Experience of ticketing and reissuing for multiple airlines.
3. Solid experience of native GDS Amadeus and/or GDS Galileo.
4. Current/Recent Experience in a Similar Role.
5. Full Rights to Work in the UK.
