The Transpennine Route Upgrade is a major investment to be made in the railway between York and Manchester via Leeds and Huddersfield. TRU is a multi-billion-pound, transformative, long-term railway infrastructure programme that will improve connectivity in the North. It will support economic growth in the North and deliver real benefits for passengers and communities along this pivotal rail artery.
We have a vacancy for a Commercial Assistant to join our team, supporting the commercial team for BAM Nuttall in TRU West (TransPennine Route Upgrade), based at our Huddersfield Office. You may be required to be project-based on occasion, with the opportunity to work flexibly in line with our policy.
As a Commercial Assistant, the role will see you contribute significantly to a successful commercial outcome to any part or section of a Project with which you are associated.
Your mission
Key activities will include:
* Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company policy. Be aware and contribute to the "Your Safety is My Safety" vision.
* Assist with the monthly cost by supplying requested information such as material and plant accruals.
* Input into Assessed Cost Database, SAP, MyTime, Rental Results or similar cost collation tool.
* Bought ledger invoice clearance to agreed payment terms, raising queries with suppliers where necessary.
* Deliver on the responsibilities as set out below.
* Adopt and promote BAM Nuttall’s Vision and Values.
* Take ownership for the work assigned to you.
Who are we looking for?
* National 5 in English and Mathematics (or GCSE equivalent).
* Previous industry experience would be an advantage.
* Be diligent and motivated.
* Demonstrate a desire to learn and progress.
* Show interest in increasing your knowledge of the construction industry.
