Senior Marine Consultant
Hybrid - Edinburgh
Salary DOE + Hybrid Working + Bonus
Do you come from a Marine Consultancy or subsea analysis background whilst looking for a hybrid role to shape a safe and sustainable future? This established and rapidly growing offshore consultancy has massive plans in place to expand over the coming years, supported by its pre-existing partnerships with well-known partners such as search engines, DNOs, and phone service providers. They are now looking for a passionate and experienced individual to specialise in subsea cable risk mitigation strategies. This company offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a sustainable future by exploring, developing, and protecting vital marine assets.
This hybrid role will allow the successful candidate to leverage their expertise in offshore projects (renewables, subsea cables, oil & gas) to manage projects from start to finish. You'll design, analyse, and implement solutions, oversee project execution (budget & timeline), and guide a junior team on data collection, analysis, client communication, and report creation. This includes survey data, comprehensive reports, and technical advice (system design & risk assessment).
The Role:
* Deliver high-quality risk assessment reports to clients based on data collected through surveying and sampling.
* Manage the collection, analysis, and report structuring of risk assessments for clients.
* Lead & mentor junior colleagues to produce high-quality reports on time and to budget.
* Offer advice on the design of systems to clients and the major risk factors that may inhibit successful completion.
The Candidate:
* Possess a strong understanding of the marine environment and operations, including basic principles of offshore survey and installation practices, and a solid foundation in maritime knowledge.
* Be adept at data management and processing using industry-standard software like GIS, AutoCAD, and data modeling tools.
* Demonstrate clear experience managing projects within the offshore sector (oil & gas, surveys, or wind farms). Prior experience with subsea cables is a plus, but not essential.
* Excel at managing offshore operations, with a focus on creating high-quality reports, documents, and quality assurance deliverables.
