Job Overview
We are seeking Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurses to join our team in Leeds. This role involves providing specialised, high-quality care to critically ill children while working within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Critical Care & Monitoring: Continuously monitor vital signs and specialised readings to detect abnormalities. Work closely with doctors to prevent complications and respond to emergencies.
2. Medication Administration & Treatment: Administer prescribed medications and emergency treatments. Insert and remove catheters as required.
3. Accurate Documentation: Maintain up-to-date and detailed patient records, ensuring treatment plans are continuously updated.
4. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, specialists, and healthcare teams to develop and implement personalised treatment plans.
5. Family Support & Communication: Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients' families. Offer reassurance and regular updates on patient progress.
Job Requirements
1. NMC Registered Nurse (Paediatrics or Critical Care qualification preferred)
2. Minimum 6 months of PICU/NICU/Critical Care experience
3. Strong teamwork, communication, and decision-making skills
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
