Job Opportunity: Senior Wastewater Modeller
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Wastewater Modeller to join our team. Whether you’re an established Senior/Principal Wastewater Modeller or a skilled Wastewater Network Modeller ready to take the next step in your career, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
This position is offered as a 12-month contract with the potential for extension up to five years or beyond. It is a fully remote role, providing flexibility and convenience, with the added option to work part of the year remotely from overseas. Please note, however, that the successful candidate must reside in the UK for at least six months annually to comply with tax requirements.
As part of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative solutions to address flooding, pollution, and network challenges.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Wastewater Modeller, your responsibilities will include:
* Building and verifying sewer network models using InfoWorks ICM.
* Utilising river quality modelling and survey data to evaluate the impacts of combined sewer overflow (CSO) discharges.
* Developing outline designs to address hydraulic and network-related challenges.
* Preparing high-quality technical reports and delivering clear presentations.
* Analysing data using Microsoft Excel and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
* Managing consultant-led studies and ensuring successful project delivery.
* Providing in-house technical training to support team development and knowledge sharing.
* Leading and managing a small team of modellers, ensuring objectives and deadlines are achieved.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
* A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field).
* A minimum of four years’ experience in a similar role, with demonstrable expertise in wastewater modelling.
* Proficiency in InfoWorks ICM, GIS software, and Microsoft Office applications.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to a range of stakeholders.
* Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage your own workload and oversee the work of team members to meet deadlines.
* Ideally, chartered status or significant progress toward becoming chartered with a relevant professional body (e.g., CIWEM, ICE).
