About the role Your role as a Commercial Officer involves ensuring the accuracy of work order pricing by meticulously reviewing and quality-checking work orders, including subcontractor data submissions, to enable the progression of completed jobs to the invoicing stage. This helps maximize cash collection targets and minimize unbilled work. You are responsible for pricing subcontractor works and liaising with subcontractors to resolve any queries or disputes, reporting any discrepancies or trends in pricing to the Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Team. This ensures that the codes claimed are correct, within the job specification, and that all costs can be recovered without causing delays in payment. Additionally, you monitor cost control of the contract, including labour, materials and subcontractors. Managing the contract procurement database is also part of your duties, ensuring all certificates are reviewed and work-in-progress updates are accurate. You prioritise the customer experience by maintaining a professional manner in all communications and adhering to Health & Safety standards, keeping all company assets in good condition. Furthermore, you assist with other commercial tasks such as debt ledger management, invoicing, unallocated cash, and forecasting, and attend both informal and formal company and client meetings and training sessions as required. Key Criteria: Knowledge in the construction industry or experience in pricing works. IT literate – Microsoft Good communication skills written and verbal.
