Environmental, Health & Safety Manager
Due to continued growth, we're recruiting an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to join our client on a Permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
1. Total responsibility for all EHS matters relating to the site. This involves maintaining and developing ISO 9001, 14001 & ISO 45001 management system, ensuring compliance and managing the in-house Health and Safety systems. To provide Environmental, health and safety support and advice to management and employees. To actively promote a culture of EHS and eliminate loss in the areas of injury, illness, material damage.
2. Responsible for management and adherence of COMAH and DSEAR regulations.
3. Responsible for implementing and supporting the H&S management system.
4. Conduct on-site Risk Assessments and review current risk assessments.
5. Develop, implement and update health and safety policies & procedures.
6. Design, plan, conduct and co-ordinate appropriate health and safety training programmes (manual handling, first aid etc).
7. Carry out induction training on new employees, and employees returning to work following a prolonged absence. Maintain a comprehensive training record on each employee.
8. Ensure H&S legislative compliance. Educate and coach managers and employees on how they can best improve the safety performance of their teams.
9. Update the Company Safety Statement from time to time as required by changing circumstances or legislation.
10. Report any accident or incident to the H.S.E. as required by law, and also as required by the company insurers.
11. H&S Officer, member of Safety Committee.
12. Maintenance of Safety statement.
13. H&S Training: H&S Induction, Chemical awareness.
14. Maintain database: chemicals & PPE.
15. Maintenance of Fire Safety Register.
16. Environmental compliance ensure compliance with waste management permit regulations 2001.
17. Preparation of all environmental reports for the EA and local authorities, liaison with government bodies on an ongoing basis.
18. Managing waste movements in and out of facility and ensuring waste movements are in compliance with government regulations.
19. Liaison with operations on a daily basis to ensure site compliance.
20. Site assessments, internal auditing keeping daily/weekly records.
21. Undertake flexible working hours to meet deadlines.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in health & safety or a related field desirable.
2. 2+ years’ experience in a similar position within manufacturing industry.
3. Have a knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety legislation and UK regulations.
4. Have a knowledge of COMAH regulations.
5. Have a working knowledge of Windows IT based applications.
6. Must have good communicational skills, be self-motivated with an ability to multitask.
7. Have good organisational and administrative skills.
Salary: Competitive.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm.
This is a Full time, Permanent position.
