JOB PURPOSE
The Practice Development Nurse will work within their designated service closely with the Academy team and the Locality Manager to plan, implement, and evaluate the development of staff. They will coordinate and embed learning and development, ensuring that staff are competent and capable to undertake their roles.
The Practice Development Nurse will also work with the Academy team and the Locality Manager to identify learning needs, plan, implement any required training, and continuously evaluate staff competence, ensuring that development aligns with local and national priorities.
Main duties of the job
The Practice Development Nurse will be expected to:
1. Promote high standards of care through the demonstration of clinical expertise.
2. Facilitate the creation of a positive learning environment in the workplace where staff development is encouraged and supported.
3. Facilitate the induction, education, and continuing professional development for all levels of registered and non-registered nursing staff within the Nursing Teams.
4. Work alongside staff in individual teams undertaking a key role in practice development.
5. Translate Academy priorities such as changes in nursing standards and new clinical roles into their designated service.

Job responsibilities
To work with the Academy team and Locality Manager to identify specific training needs and plan programmes to ensure staff are competent and have the right skills to undertake their roles.
1. To work with the Academy team, nursing teams, CBU Manager, Divisional Director of Nursing and Therapies as an ambassador for practice development.
2. To support community team leaders in planning, implementing, and evaluating practice changes in line with evidence and best practice.
3. To work with nominated team members, Clinical Leads, and CBU manager to identify, plan, and implement initiatives within teams.
4. To link with internal leads including the transformation team, human resources, and the Academy team in planning, implementing, and evaluating actions and outcomes.
5. To implement a process of effective communication within teams, ensuring that staff are able to inform developments and contribute to change.

* Registered Nurse
* District Nursing qualification
* Educated to Masters degree level or equivalent
* Clinical Leadership training

* Significant senior experience within district nursing services.
* Experience in taking forward clinical and service change.
* Experience of delivering on development initiatives and leading change with individuals and teams.
* Experience of engaging with patients, the public, and stakeholders.
