Position Purpose: The Regional Manager is a position within Stericycle that provides Regional Operational leadership across a multisite portfolio of 4 sites and a team of around 60 staff. The role is responsible for overseeing processing operations: maintenance planning, labor planning, managing performance of the teams, monitoring productivity, and compliance of the operations. The Regional Manager is accountable for optimizing the performance of assets and resources, setting and ensuring that each branch team in the region achieves relevant goals in terms of customer service delivery, budget cost performance, safety and permit compliance. Typical KPI’s: profit, sales & growth, customer satisfaction NPS scoring, productivity throughput, Safety TRIR, Permit compliance scoring). The Regional Manager is a multi-skilled role, suited to a solution focused and driven Operations professional. Strong people management and engagement skills are important as is clear leadership and coaching for the team under direct control. Good presentation and collaboration skills are also important as the role is part of the leadership group in the Irish business and requires a degree of customer interaction alongside the Commercial team. The Regional Manager understands and owns the key elements of their role acting under own initiative on a day to day basis while embodying consistent implementation of the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values and ensuring that high standards for Team safety and compliance. The role reports to the Head of Operations. Key Job Activities: To ensure that all sites are managed and supported in a timely manner and in a condition appropriate to their use. Ensuring that the Region is operating safely, productively and efficiently at all times. Manage plant operations in line with appropriate legislation including Engineering, PLC, H&S, maintenance, standard operating procedures, working time directive and site permit Licence requirements. Lead maintenance team to ensure the delivery of proactive/preventative maintenance solutions in line with best practice and efficient reactive repair techniques when required. Ensure that company principles and standards are adhered to with respect to all personnel, resources, procedures and practices. Ensure Health and Safety standards are met and carry out regular audits. To provide robust leadership and direction to ensure the smooth and seamless operation of the Region and maintain communications and personal contact with Managers & staff. Oversee conduct of teams and foster positive local engagement and relationships. Implementing accountability or conduct policies where required. To liaise with the Regulatory bodies in relation to all appropriate service activities and ensure operational compliance of plant facilities and permit obligations, in conjunction with the compliance team. Monitor branch performance and take action to identify or correct areas of concern. In particular ensure planned and preventative maintenance programs are in place and executed, and that adequate labor plans are in place for the production operations. Responsibility for regional expenditure and business planning to ensure that financial budgets & capital projects are delivered in line with submitted AOP Influence and development of operational strategies and change initiatives across the region. Develop and drive the continuous improvement plan for sites within scope of control, and own delivery. Experience (EMEAA): Experience managing a large region of manufacturing operational centres would be highly beneficial. Demonstrable track record in managing plant processes and extensive knowledge in the specialized field. 5 years’ experience managing teams of different expertise (25-50 employees). Experience working within a regional role. Proven track record of managing multi-site operations and delivery customer service solutions in line with contractual obligations. At least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment. Financial and commercial acumen, proven experience managing P&L. Strong technical knowledge / background. Engineering and systems awareness. Demonstrate strong health and safety leadership. Planning & organisation skills. Ability to review and analyse complex financial/business reports/data and generate innovative solutions/corrective action plans. Strong interpersonal skills. Confidently deal with a multitude of projects and changing priorities. Experience of managing capital projects. Strong Microsoft Office skills, data entry ability, and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and statistical tools. Excellent presentation skills. Strong coach and leader with exceptional eye for detail ensuring the highest levels of productivity and efficiency. Strong negotiating skills. Education Required Education: Associates or equivalent Preferred Education: Bachelors or equivalent Required Experience: experience managing multisite / production / processing operations. Experience in regulate, permitted or controlled environments helpful. Knowledge of techniques and strategies relevant to the role and able to give practical examples. Evidence of multisite / multiskill teams. Strong people leadership skills. Practical evidence of driving a continuous improvement culture Preferred Experience: Exposure to regulated, controlled or legislated industrial activities. Experience of waste or healthcare sectors may be useful, but not essential. Demonstrable track record in managing plant processes and extensive knowledge in the specialized field. 5 years’ experience managing teams of in industrial environments. Some exposure to customer service networks & high expectation clients. Ideally at least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing / production / assembly type environment.
