An exciting opportunity has arisen for a governance lead within Women's Health. If you have a passion for ensuring high standards of care through clinical governance and quality improvement, we would like to hear from you. The post holder will lead and develop the quality and safety agenda within gynaecology and integrated sexual health. You will be responsible for monitoring, collating and advising on all aspects of quality, patient safety and risk management. You will work closely with the senior clinical team and offer expert advice and guidance where necessary.
The post has an important role in supporting the triumvirate to develop and embed effective risk management processes and systems to enable quality improvement and ensure learning from serious incidents and complaints are embedded. This is a delivery-focused role and to be successful you will need to be highly organised, persuasive and able to manage competing priorities. You will need excellent communication skills, as you will be overseeing a rich portfolio of work and working with a diverse range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a clinical registration, with experience in the hospital setting, and enjoy working in a dynamic team who are committed to the provision of high-quality care to patients and service users.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an integral part of the Clinical Governance team and lead the Gynaecology, Sexual Health and HIV quality, safety, and risk agenda.
Working with the Matrons and divisional leads will ensure that clinical and quality governance and risk systems and processes are in place within their department to support safer care, learning and continuous improvement.
The post holder will co-ordinate and monitor the gynaecological risk register and will manage the patient safety incidents and complaints across the Women's Health Division.
The post holder will be expected to have good working knowledge of the clinical governance agenda and its constituent components. Supporting a wider clinical governance team, the post holder will ensure effective coordination between the various strands of governance, monitoring multiple monthly and yearly work plans across Gynaecology and Sexual Health with close links to the Maternity work plan.
