As a senior support worker, you will be part of a well-established staff team working within a busy house where no two days are the same.
Aside from regular support worker duties you will also complete handovers, supervise staff, become involved in the induction of new staff, complete compliance checks and follow up discrepancies and work closely with the staff team, leading by example to ensure the people we support are living a life that makes sense to them. You'll encourage your team and identify training needs, whether that's formally or by way of day-to-day coaching and reflection.
You will work closely with the registered manager and your fellow senior to oversee the smooth running and delivery of our personalised adult social care, ensuring outstanding delivery of support in line with our vision.
In Crownhill, two adjoining houses support a total of 13 adults of mixed ages and genders with a variety of interests.
You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Shift pattern is (early) 07:30 15:00, (late) 14:30 22:00. There is a separate waking night team.
About you
You will need some experience working with vulnerable people, ideally those with learning disabilities. Perhaps you have been a support worker or care worker / practitioner and are now looking to step up to a more senior role with more responsibilities and greater challenges.
You will need to be flexible and organised, with a positive approach.
You must also be a driver with a manual licence, as you will be driving house vehicles, as well as possibly commuting places, using your own transport.
This is an exciting opportunity that has potential to grow with you as you develop within MacIntyre.
